Geoffrey R. McDonald
Founder
Founder of Geoff McDonald & Associates, Mr. McDonald has dedicated his law practice to helping injured people. He began his legal career after graduating from T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond. Prior to this, Mr. McDonald attended the University of Hawaii for three years and then the University of Virginia, where he earned his undergraduate degree and was a scholarship athlete on the football team.
In addition to handling personal injury, and workers’ compensation cases, Mr. McDonald has lectured on these areas of law and has had his writing published in Trial magazine and other publications. He is an active member of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association and the Workplace Injury Litigation Group.
Gregory O. Harbison
Member
Mr. Harbison is a graduate of the University of Virginia. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Widener University School of Law, graduating with honors. During law school, he served as managing editor of the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law.
Mr. Harbison was recently named a Super Lawyer by Super Lawyers publication, which recognizes top attorneys across the nation. Mr. Harbison dedicates his law practice to helping injured people, focusing in the areas of Social Security Disability claims and workers’ compensation claims. In addition to his work with clients, Mr. Harbison is the chair of Continuing Legal Education for the Workers’ Compensation Section of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association. He also serves on the Continuing Legal Education Committee for the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association. In addition, he has given many presentations on pertinent workers’ compensation issues.
Jamie Lynn Karek
Attorney
Jamie Lynn Karek’s main area of practice is workers’ compensation, but she also handles cases dealing with the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Wage & Hour Laws for employees.
A graduate of Canisius College in Buffalo, New York, Ms. Karek went on to earn her Master’s degree in cognitive psychology at State University of New York at Buffalo in Buffalo, New York. She earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Richmond’s T.C. Williams School of Law in Richmond, Va. While there she worked on the Journal of Law & The Public Interest from 2004 to 2005. She was admitted to the Virginia State Bar in 2005.
Ms. Karek is a member of the following professional organizations: Phi Alpha Delta, Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, Metro Richmond Women’s Bar Association, Virginia Bar Association, and American Bar Association. During 2004 and 2005, she served as Fundraising Chair for Phi Alpha Delta. Ms. Karek was also a member of Psi Chi from 1999 to 2000.

John David Gilbody
Associate
John David Gilbody practices law in the following areas: animal bites, government construction contracts, machinery and tools, medical products and devices, motor vehicle accident, pharmaceutical products, and premises liability.
A graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor’s degree in political science, Mr. Gilbody earned his Juris Doctorate with honors from George Mason University School of Law in Arlington, Va. During law school, he served as associate editor for George Mason Law Review from 1997 to 1998. He was admitted to the Virginia Bar Association in 1998 and the U.S. District Court Eastern District of Virginia in 2002.
Prior to joining the Geoff McDonald & Associates, Mr. Gilbody was an associate at LeClair Ryan from 2000 to 2006.
