Second man charged in Richmond wrongful death

A second man has been arrested in connection to the Richmond wrongful death of a woman, according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

The man was charged with unlawful disposal of a body and with being an accessory after the fact to the Richmond wrongful death.

The man is being held in the Richmond City Jail after the Richmond wrongful death, the same jail where the woman’s boyfriend is also being held for the abduction of the Richmond woman’s son.

22-year-old dead after Richmond stand off

The Commonwealth of Virginia’s Attorney’s Office for the City of Richmond is investigating a shooting of a 22-year-old man to determine if this was or was not a Richmond wrongful death, according to NBC12.com.

Police said they were forced to shoot the 22-year-old at the end of a five-hour standoff at a Richmond home and that this was not a Richmond wrongful death.

Documents released in Virginia wrongful death case

According to search warrants in the Virginia wrongful death case of a lacrosse player, blood began flowing from her nose during the fight with her accused killer before he pushed her onto a bed in her apartment, according to The Associated Press.

New documents also indicate police seized red-stained bedding and towels from the victim after the Virginia wrongful death.

Two Virginia wrongful deaths after boat accident

Two are dead and several are injured after a 7-year-old wrecked a boat into a pier in Virginia, according to The Washington Post.

The boy’s mother, a 35-year-old Virginia woman, was on board with three others when the boat crashed. The woman died of severe trauma of the head.

It’s not illegal in Virginia for a child to operate a boat, but an adult could be charged with reckless boating if something such as a Virginia wrongful death were to occur.

Richmond child dies during dental procedure

July 1, 2010

A six-year-old child died during a visit to a dental clinic, which had been investigated as a possible Richmond wrongful death.

According to KTVR, the state medical examiner determined he suffered an irregular heartbeat caused by the removal of a breathing tube.

The child went into cardiac arrest after undergoing anesthesia while having caps put on several teeth at Virginia Commonwealth University’s pediatric dental clinic in Richmond.

He was pronounced dead a short time later at VCU Medical Center.

Law could prevent Richmond wrongful deaths

A new law promotes trailer safety, which could prevent some Virginia wrongful deaths.

According to BusinessWire.com, Virginia law enforcement officers out of Richmond will be handing out $250 fines to trailer owners in Virginia who do not have the proper safety connections.

Since 1988, more than 400 people have died each year because of Virginia auto accidents caused by trailer separation and involving innocent victims, causing Virginia wrongful death accidents.

The law goes into effect July 1, and Virginia law enforcement officers and representatives want to make the summer safer for everyone.

Florida man dies in Richmond auto accident

A man who died in a Richmond auto accident at Libby Hill Park in Richmond’s Church Hill Historic District has been identified as an 84-year-old Florida man.

According to the Richmond Times-Dispatch, witnesses told police that the man’s Cadillac El Dorado sideswiped a parked car and hit a retaining wall then drove off the hill on Libby Terrace.
