Murder indictment sought for Richmond wrongful death

Richmond Times-Dispatch reported that prosecutors are seeking a first-degree murder indictment today against a man involved with the Richmond wrongful death.

This man shot a bondsman from South Richmond three times from behind as the bondsman tried to take him to jail for not appearing in court on a felony drug charge.

A multijurisdictional grand jury will be asked to indict the shooter for first-degree murder and unlawful use of a firearm. He has appeared once by videoconference in the Richmond General District Court on a general murder charge. A preliminary hearing for the Virginia wrongful death is scheduled in Manchester on that charge sometime next week.

Woman, unborn child killed in Virginia auto accident

The death of a Virginia car accident victim and her unborn baby may have been caused by a Newport News man, according to the Daily Press. The man was driving the wrong way in the southbound lane and caused a six-car Virginia auto accident on Wednesday.

The 20-year-old pregnant woman was killed in the Virginia auto accident about 5:55 a.m. when the man struck her vehicle head-on. The car accident victim was ejected from her vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene of the collision.

The driver of the vehicle that caused the auto accident was charged with possession of marijuana and taken to a local hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Virginia auto accident leaves eight injured

The Richmond Times-Dispatch reported that a man was arrested on an outstanding warrant after causing a Virginia auto accident with a bus that left seven students injured, as well as the bus driver.

All of the Virginia car accident victims were sent to a local hospital to be treated for their injuries, none of which were considered life-threatening.

Police say the man was charged with failure to yield, several equipment violations, and driving on a suspended license.

Virginia motorcycle accident claims one man’s life

A Virginia motorcycle accident victim died Wednesday night in after an auto accident on Oyster Point Road, according to the Daily Press. The 40-year-old Virginia car accident victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Virginia motorcycle accident happened after the driver began riding erratically, pulling alongside police cars then drifting back. When an officer tried to pull the man over, he sped away where he clipped the fender of a truck, lost control, and slammed into a tree on the side of the road.

Three separate Virginia auto accidents claim three lives

December 4, 2007

The Richmond Times-Dispatch reported that a man died Saturday when he lost control of his vehicle and collided with a tree. Despite wearing a seat belt, the 18-year-old Virginia auto accident victim died at the scene.

Two others died in separate one-vehicle Virginia auto accidents. A woman was fatally injured when she lost control of her motorcycle and crashed into a wooden post. The Virginia motorcycle accident victim died shortly after.

A 29-year-old man lost control of his vehicle Monday and slammed into a bridge where his vehicle caught fire. The car accident victim was also wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Buyers warned of Virginia defective products containing contaminated cheese

A gift basket has been voluntarily recalled by a company because the Virginia defective product could include cheese contaminated with dangerous bacteria, according to the Bristol Herald Courier.

The Virginia defective product that was sold in Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia, Maryland, and Alabama as well as Virginia, was the company’s Southern Cheddar Jack Volunteer Special Cheese. The defective product was sold in several sizes and may have been distributed across the country through the company’s Web site.

No Virginia defective product injuries have been reported. The defective product was sold between Sept. 19 and Nov. 18.

Virginia auto accident has at least one confirmed fatality

The Richmond Times-Dispatch reported that at least one fatality has been confirmed in a Virginia car accident that happened around 8 a.m. Friday.

Two vehicles were involved in the Virginia auto accident that had traffic backed up in northbound lanes. The lanes have since been cleared of the car accident and state police are investigating.

Death of Kanye West’s mother a potential wrongful death

The Richmond Times-Dispatch reported that an autopsy is schedule Tuesday for Kanye West’s mother to determine if medical malpractice had led to a wrongful death. Preliminary information suggested Donda West died from surgical complications that could have caused a wrongful death.

It wasn’t immediately clear what kind of surgery she had, but had been previously turned down for plastic surgery because of a medical condition.

Virginia defective products pose problems for holiday shopping season

With the recent slew of Virginia defective products and product recalls because of unsafe levels of lead in toys, parents are wondering how to safely do their holiday shopping, according to The Roanoke Times.

A local woman offered her lead-testing equipment to test the toys at a local school and found that more than 15 percent were Virginia defective products with unsafe levels of lead. Parents are encouraged to be cautious about cheap, painted toys and fake jewelry and to toss out toys with chipped paint or degraded plastic.

Day care pool accident ends in Virginia wrongful death

November 2, 2007

A one-year-old girl passed away Tuesday after being revived by CPR last week from a fall in a home day care pool, according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch. The Virginia wrongful death happened when the girl fell in the pool on Oct. 24 and was revived by the woman who runs the day care in her own and a police sergeant.

The names of the girl and day care operator have not been released, but a police spokesperson said the girl passed away at 1:39 a.m.
