Two Virginia wrongful deaths after boat accident
July 8, 2010
Two are dead and several are injured after a 7-year-old wrecked a boat into a pier in Virginia, according to The Washington Post.
The boy’s mother, a 35-year-old Virginia woman, was on board with three others when the boat crashed. The woman died of severe trauma of the head.
It’s not illegal in Virginia for a child to operate a boat, but an adult could be charged with reckless boating if something such as a Virginia wrongful death were to occur.
Who do you think is responsible for the Virginia wrongful deaths of those on this boat? Do you think laws should be passed about children piloting boats to prevent Virginia wrongful deaths?
