Janella Loaiza practices as a member of the firm’s Workers’ Compensation Department. Janella enjoys helping injured workers and contributing her work to help the community. Janella is licensed to practice in Washington D.C., Maryland and New York.
Janella was born and raised in the Philippines. She attended Saint Louis University in Baguio City, Philippines graduating college at the age of 19 with a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies where she was consistently in the Dean’s list.
anella Immigrated to Hawaii in 2016 with her family. She worked as a jury clerk at the First Judicial Circuit Court of Hawaii. Thereafter, she moved to Virginia and went to the Appalachian School of Law where she received her Juris Doctor, Juris Master and her Civil Litigation Certificate at age of 23. After excelling in her Appellate Advocacy class during law school, she had the opportunity to intern for the Honorable Justice Cleo Powell at the Supreme Court of Virginia. There, she researched cases and drafted memoranda ranging from civil litigation, criminal litigation, and property disputes. She helped research and drafted bench briefs for cases pending appeal.
Janella interned for the Commonwealth’s Attorneys Office in Greene County Virginia where she assisted the Commonwealth’s Attorneys and Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney with criminal cases. She enjoyed participating in the litigation process.
During the pandemic, she decided to transfer her DC bar license to other jurisdictions. She took the law exams in Maryland and New York where she passed, giving her three different jurisdictions to practice from.
In her free time, Janella enjoys singing and playing the ukulele. She also prides herself in being a self-taught seamstress. She recently started her YouTube Channel where she shares her travel experiences and hobbies.
