Kyle Matykowski

Kyle graduated from Radford University in 2006 where he double majored in History and Political Science. He made the decision to continue expanding his education and went on to graduate cum laude from the University of Richmond, TC Williams School of Law in 2011.

While in law school Kyle served as Symposium Editor on the Journal of Law in the Public Interest, today known as the Public Interest Law Review. It was during this time that Kyle participated in several activities that continued to build upon his wealth of experiences. 

 heHe served as an active member of the Trial Advocacy Board and the Phi Delta Phi legal honor society.

Reflecting on his time in law school, Kyle considers some of his most fulfilling time to be when he served as a member to the Intellectual Property and Transactional Law Clinic. It was here that Kyle had the opportunity to provide pro bono legal services to the greater Richmond community. The time he spent giving back cemented his desire to work in a career where he was able to have a positive impact on struggling communities.

Prior to joining Geoff McDonald and Associates, Kyle served the Commonwealth for five years as an Appeals Examiner for the Virginia Employment Commission. He presided over, and issued legal opinions, for more than 5000 unemployment benefit appeals hearings. 

After spending five years of serving as an impartial fact finder, and seeing first-hand how individuals who were unemployed reaching their lowest points, Kyle became eager to make the transition towards advocacy; determined to help people unemployed and at their lowest point, Kyle was eager to make the transition to advocate on behalf of those who need help the most. Kyle graduated from Radford University in 2006 where he double majored in History and Political Science. He made the decision to continue expanding his education and went on to graduate cum laude from the University of Richmond, TC Williams School of Law in 2011.
