Wyck Sweeney

Wyck Sweeney practices as a member of the firm’s Workers’ Compensation Department.  Wyck is committed to assisting our clients both inside and outside of the courtroom.  Wyck is licensed to practice in Tennessee and Virginia.

Wyck attended the College of Charleston in Charleston, SC, graduating in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts.

After graduation, Wyck moved to Washington, DC where he gained experience in the legal profession while working as a research assistant on the second largest criminal antitrust case in US history and a paralegal for the world’s leading corporate immigration law firm. After gaining four years of professional experience, Wyck attended the University of Georgia School of Law in 2011.

During his time at the University of Georgia, Wyck worked with the Athens Clarke County District Attorney’s Office, Western Judicial Circuit Public Defenders Office and Georgia Lawyers for the Arts where he delt with cases ranging from murder to copyright disputes.

After graduating from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2014, Wyck moved to Nashville, TN to begin his law career. Once arriving in Nashville, Wyck went from managing bands to becoming a litigator on behalf of the State of Tennessee. After three years in litigation, Wyck was asked to become an Administrative Judge on behalf of Tennessee’s Healthcare and Finance division.  In that role, he presided over more than 600 cases every year and issued over 2,000 orders on behalf of the State.

During the pandemic, Wyck and his wife decided to move back to his hometown of Richmond to be closer to his family as they welcomed their first child to the world. Upon their move, Wyck decided to shift from public service to advocating on behalf of Virginia’s workers. The same people that he grew up working alongside in his various jobs in construction, agriculture, and restaurants in the Richmond area.

In his free time, Wyck enjoys quality time with his family, woodworking, live comedy and music, running with his dogs, cooking, spending time on the James and Pamunkey, and Georgia football.
